Ischemic Colitis Proximal to Obstruction Carcinoma of Left Colon -A report of one case report-

Abstract
Today, colonic ischemia is recognized to manifest a spectrum of injury including: (1) reversible colopathy (submucosal or intramural hemorrhage) (2) transient colitis (3) chronic ulcerating colitis (4) stricture (5) gangrene (6) fulminant
universal
colitis.
Occlusion or underperfusion of arteries suppling the colon wall predispose to ischemic injury. It is impotant to understand the variety of ischemic lesions of the distended colon, because of gangrenous as well as nongangrenous ischemic colities
whether
perforated or not, calls for a different type o therapy from that applied to obstructive complications of colorectal cancer in which there is no ischemic change.
The authors experienced a case of ischemic colitis proximal to obstructing carcinoma of left colon in fifty-on year old female patients who had been suffered because of abdominal pain in left lower quadrant with blood tinged stool. The extended
left
hemicolectomy was performed and the diagnosed adenocarcinoma of colon(Astler and coller; C2) with chronic ischemic colitis.
